Memorial Day parade in 2019
My husband is a veteran of the Vietnam war, a veteran who doesn't see the meaning of celebrating it with a parade. The first and only Memorial day parade I went was on a beautiful sunny day in 2019, twenty-four years after moving to America.
All that excitement reminded me of when I was in high school and we had parades to celebrate the independence of Brazil. It was a very interesting day, a good day to take pictures yet I didn't feel I belonged to this very affluent Connecticut town we went to, the first town I lived in when I moved to the US.
