A Quiet Grief
Will someone remember us after we are gone?
My grief starts with saying goodbye to her, as she may not be there the next time I go back.
I think about our time growing up together and the long separations after I moved away from our parents' home. As I think about that time and the distance between us, I realize that the space that separates us also encompass and binds us together. Memories can bring understanding, healing, and connection.
A life once thrived as she continuously grew her business and enjoyed the company of friends; since 2022, she's been living with cancer, with the constant anxiety that it would return; and it did.
Now her days are a mix of fear, strength, and fragility.
